I spent three years doing volunteer grooming for local rescues. Seeing those dogs go from overlooked, dirty dogs to adorable family members, and getting to continue grooming them throughout their lives, has been rewarding. A disappointing moment in my career was when I did a standard cocker pattern on a coworker's client that I was very proud of, but they decided to go back to their regular groomer because they thought my blade work was choppy.
